We all have our favorite beauty brands, don’t we? Something about the range of colors, textures, how the product applies and looks on you, all of those factors come into play. Tom Ford Beauty always speaks to me. Mr. Tom Ford once said that he loves soft, touchable beauty, and I can certainly see and feel that philosophy in every product I try. The look is always effortlessly glamorous and sexy, never overly done, too obvious or “manicured” as I like to say. I think it is precisely this effortlessness that appeals to me so much.
The new color collection is inspired by the Soleil Neige, a brilliant private blend scent, and the Eye Color Quad is definitely a personal favorite. Aside from the fact that I love pink-toned neutrals, the quad allows you to achieve a multitude of looks, ranging from dramatic smoky eye to a very soft, glowing look. Smooth and creamy, the colors apply beautifully, so much so, that you can actually use your fingers. For today’s look I wanted a more precise application so I used #11 brush to apply the soft pink shade all over my eye lid. Next, I used #12 contour brush to apply the deep champagne shade in the crease and to my lover lash-line. To add even more depth to the look, I applied the deepest brown shade to the top lash line and lower lash line. By the way, you can use a wet brush to intensify the shades if you’re going for a really dramatic look. Finally, I added the lightest shade to the corners of my eyes and just under the brow bone.
I am very lucky to have been able to work with some of the best makeup artists in the industry, which is how I learned to do my eye make up. I watched them work, I asked a lot of questions, and I took notes. If I had to choose just one tip to share with you guys, it would be the importance of working with the right kind of brushes. Softness, fluidity and effortlessness is what defines good eye makeup. The right brush will help you avoid harsh lines and blend the colors together. The number #13 blending brush is actually my all time favorite because it really helps to pull a look together and it’s easy so easy to use!
Another favorite from the collection is the Soleil Neige Balm Frost. The pale-pink, super shimmery shade is absolutely gorgeous! Love the way it looks on it’s own but also, the way it layers over my favorite soft coral shade. Perfect for Holiday season, perfect for an evening out, I also appreciate how moisturizing it is because I find that a lot of shimmering lipsticks and balms can be during, but not this one! Love that!
