Style Tip: How to Wear Leggings to Look Chic and Stylish in 2020

Can you wear leggings as pants and still look stylish? Yes & here’s how: Stick to opaque styles, add cool accents to elevate your look, don’t go fancy with you tops.

Let me explain about fancy tops… Though yes, wearing leggings as pants is definitely a thing nowadays, technically speaking they are still considered athleisure, so going too fancy with your top/outwear may be less than the ideal choice. Instead, opt for something a bit more casual, but with added interest. Personally, I love pairing my leggings with sherpa or faux shearling tops. This top style is a perfect match for the casual vibe of your leggings, yet the fabric definitely adds that extra style moment this otherwise very casual outfit needs.

As far as leggings go, I normally stick to opaque styles or styles made from thicker fabric. Another option is of course mesh. Mesh leggings in particular pair really well with combat boots and oversized leather or denim jackets. Another reason why I love it is because once again, it adds anther layer of interest to your casual look.

Cool accents drive this look home! Personally, I suggest wearing your leggings with sneakers & socks (love this style) or flat boots (dying over the short version of the Prada ones I’m wearing in today’s look). Lastly, don’t go too casual with your bag style. Adding a streetwear element like a cool handbag is one of the easiest ways to dress up this look.
