The right winter blazer will not only keep you warm, but also add a touch of polish to your look. Opt for these 3 blazer styles to elevate any Fall or Winter outfit.
You know what a huge fan of blazers I am. Since I tend to wear them year round, I’ve accumulated quite the solid collection of staples, that is, the essential Fall/Winter blazers that are warm, stylish and tend to play well with the rest of my winter wardrobe. The following blazer styles are the ones that are pretty much fool proof!
Oversized Neutrals – really you can’t go wrong with an oversized blazer in a neutral shade. It looks great with pretty much any other color in the winter palette (I’m talking black, white, cream, burgundy, navy, gray, etc) and it adds a nice pop of color to your look if you tend to wear a lot of black. My suggestion, go for a longer, oversized style since you will probably wear it over a sweater. Bonus point – oversized blazers are a huge thing at the moment.
Cool Textures – texture is one of the easiest ways to add a bit of spice to your look (think corduroy or tweed). Aside from the fact that these textures pretty much scream fall/ winter, they add a beautiful textural element to your look. Also, tweed and corduroy play well with other textures like leather, wool, faux shearling, sherpa and suede.
Polished Plaid – obviously a classic, I don’t think anything makes you look quite as elegant or pulled together as plaid does. For Fall/Winter go for darker plaid (black & white or anything in the brown family looks especially striking). Another styling tip – to make your plaid look cool and edgy pair it with more fashion forward pieces like leather pants, slouchy jeans and combat boots!
