You know that we love traveling in California and sharing our experience with you guys, so when we discovered the Alila Marea Beach Resort in Encinitas we couldn’t wait to tell you all about it!

If you’re looking for a super relaxing getaway in California, Alila Marea Beach Resort in Encinitas is definitely worth checking out. Why did we love it so much? First is of course the location: it’s beach front, so the coastal views are absolutely amazing. Another reason is that this newly-built resort is gorgeous! Think modern, luxe minimalist decor, calming color palette inspired by the natural elements and nonchalant, relaxing atmosphere.

As I previously mentioned we stayed at the Ponto Suite, which came complete with a gorgeous living room featuring floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean. I think enjoying the dramatic ocean views became our favorite pastime, that and also having a glass of wine by the fireplace.  Love that the fire place is double facing and opens onto to the living room as well as the patio! Personally, I always felt that a fireplace adds a certain warm and welcoming element to a space, not to mention the fact that it kept us nice and warm on chilly Cali evenings!
